Zimmermann's NYC Store Has Tapped Into a Fresh Interior Trend for 2018
Since launching at Paddington Markets in 1991, founders of the iconic fashion label Zimmermann, Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, have come a long way. Not only have they found international acclaim, they are well-established in it, opening boutiques across Australia, the UK, and the US, and also showing at New York Fashion Week this week. So, it's no surprise that the reopening of their SoHo store was a star-studded event, with A-list attendees like Sienna Miller and Katie Holmes all appearing to celebrate.
The true interior obsessives that we are, we couldn't also help but notice the impeccable store styling. True to their elevated products the store boasts of clean lines, white walls and classic archways, but, less common are bright walls and statement furniture inspired by varying eras, reminiscent of the Wabi-Sabi trend we predicted would be huge this year—the idea of styling a space authentically, so that it feels right, and worrying less about traditional principles of design. And we think it's a perfect nod to New York's avant-garde take on fashion. Brass accents, bold colours, unique furniture and wall furnishings are just a few ways Australian architect Don McQualter has taken Zimmermann's signature flare and added it into their boutique.
