Virginia Martin, founder of fashion label búl describes her designs as “classic shapes with a distinctive edge” and the same description could be used to define her Melbourne home.

To celebrate Martin’s recent collaboration with landscape photographer, Kate Ballis—which resulted in striking travel imagery being printed onto a 5-piece capsule collection—the creative duo teamed up again for Ballis to photograph Martin in her eclectic Brunswick East abode.

The fashion designer’s three-bedroom home is unsurprisingly effortlessly cool, much like her designs. Her modest, lived-in furnishings are brought to life with gallery-worthy collection of artworks, sculptures, and figurines that she has collected from her one of her favourite pastimes, travelling.

Her favourite thing about the home? It’s overgrown, jungle-like backyard where she feeds her roaming chickens and tends to her veggie patch. The dream. Scroll on to take a tour.
