A 1920s Spanish Home Gets a Modern Makeover

Sacha Strebe

This expertly curated 1920s Spanish Revival-style residence is the home of Sean Yashar and interior decorator Oliver M. Furth. Located in South Carthay, California, every space is layered with curiosities, from the custom teal velvet-upholstered couch to the 1950s cocktail table, and the 1850s pine Louis Philippe cabinet that doubles as wine storage, it's an interesting case of "era mashing." Each room is brimming with unique collectors' items and modern functional pieces, but the couple have been careful to ensure ample negative space, so it never feels cluttered.
