This Is What a $24,000 "Seat" Looks Like on a Luxury Airline
When we think of luxury travel, our minds turn to stretching out in a business class seat while watching an award-winning movie and sipping champagne. But Singapore Airlines' new Airbus A380 suites put our travel fantasies to shame—their $24,000 USD rooms are big enough for a couple to comfortably share a double bed. As Insider reports, each new Airbus A380 plane will feature six of these first-class suites, each of which houses a convertible bed, an upholstered leather reclining swivel chair, small nightstands, and more.
"The significant investment that we are making with the introduction of new cabin products demonstrates our commitment to continued investment in products and services, our long-term approach to ensure we retain our leadership position, and our confidence in the future of premium full-service air travel," Singapore Airlines CEO Mr. Goh Choon Phong said in a statement. "The new cabin products are the culmination of four years of work, involving extensive customer research and close partnerships with our designers and suppliers." Step inside a standard $24,000 USD first-class suite aboard Singapore airlines below:
Each bed can be stowed or converted into a sitting area when not in use.
Some of the suites can be connected so couples traveling together can share the space.
Each suite features storage compartments and a 32-inch entertainment display.
Passengers can summon flight attendants or dim the lights by tapping the capacitive controls on the handheld wireless tablet.
The high-definition TV is paired with noise-cancelling headphones and a sliding glass door, ensuring that passengers can truly zone out and relax on their flight.
Each suite also features hand-tufted carpets, leather padded compartments, and a wardrobe large enough to house each passenger's cabin luggage.
The six first class suite passengers will share two spacious bathrooms...
