Step Inside This Modern Beach House in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula

Lauren Powell

It’s almost impossible to describe how beautiful Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula is, especially its most westerly point of Portsea, which is across the Bass Strait from Port Phillip. Located south-east of Melbourne, Portsea is surrounded by aquamarine waters and is brimming with beautiful homes nestled within dense bushland—including this contemporary home designed by Mim Design.

The large four-bedroom, three-bathroom abode—which was a finalist in the Belle Coco Republic Interior Design Awards for Residential—was inspired by its coastal location and countryside setting, both of which are reflected in its cool colour palette of greys, whites, and earthy greens, use of natural materials throughout, and minimal furnishings. This pavilion-style coastal hideout is what weekends away are made for. Scroll on and tour the luxuriously tranquil space.
