No matter how superficial Tinder may be, you can glean some surprising and interesting insights from one of the world's most popular dating apps. With over 50 million global users per month, Tinder has enough data to attempt to quantify the elusive laws of attraction, or at least draw some intriguing conclusions. This year alone, we discovered the most attractive professions for men and women, the ideal profile picture formula, and now, the most attractive names. By analysing the ratio of right to left-swipes by name, the dating app has compiled a list of the most attractive traditionally male and female names of 2016:

Top right-swiped names in Australia:

1. Chris

2. Ollie

3. Luke

4. Jasper

5. Finn

6. Harrison

7. Fernando

8. Kye

9. Jackson

10. Liam

1. Samantha

2. Madison

3. Montana

4. Jodi

5. India

6. Tayla

7. Maddy

8. Paris

9. Kiara

10. Abbey

These findings beg the question of whether or not these names are the most "attractive," or simply the most common. Tinder swipes are mostly based on photos, not names, and these monikers were extremely popular in the 1980s and '90s, when the average-age Tinder user was born. Nevertheless, we'll let the Chris's and the Samantha's of Australia bask in their attractiveness.
