With its beautiful string of beaches, laid-back atmosphere, and first-class culinary offerings, it’s no surprise Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most desired holiday destinations. When we’re not there we want to book a holiday there, and when we’re holidaying there we want to move there. For your next trip to the sunny beachside town on NSW’s north coast, take a cue from model and swimwear designer, and now Byron local, Mimi Elashiry, who shared her insider travel tips to POPSUGAR Australia.

Mullumbimby Farmer's Markets

"This is a must. Those farmer’s markets are beautiful. They’re on Friday, 7-11 a.m., and just 15 minutes out of Byron."

Whites Beach

"Oh, my favourite beach is Whites Beach. It’s around the corner from Broken Head, and it’s beautiful, like Hawaii. You have to hike down a cliff face to get there, and sometimes the tide is too high and there’s no beach, so you have to go at the right time. That’s a beautiful beach, I love it there. It’s all black rocks and little islands and things."

Folk Cafe

"If you want really good coffee, go to Folk! It's attached to a caravan park, and they do amazing coconut lattes! Best coconut latte I've ever had."

Roadhouse Café Bar

"If you want to go out and eat dinner, Roadhouse is the only place I go. One of my friends works there, so it's really fun, we try and distract them while they're working. Their food's really amazing too. They’re really good for breakfast [and] lunch but dinner there? It's awesome."
