10 Bizarre Ways Meghan Markle's Life Will Change Once She Marries Prince Harry

Like Princess Diana and Kate Middleton before her, Meghan Markle has quickly become one of the most awe-inspiring people on the planet—novels could be written about the minutiae of her day-to-day life, and we don't doubt people would read them. But as Marie Claire reports, a lot will change for the L.A. native come May 19, 2018, and not all of the changes are glamorous. While it's worth mentioning that Meghan and Harry are decidedly less traditional than William and Kate and have already broken royal protocol on numerous occasions, we expect that the reigns will tighten once Markle is officially a part of the royal family. Here are just a few of the ways Meghan Markle's life will change once she marries Prince Harry at St. George's Chapel.
She and Prince Harry will likely tone down the PDA.
There's a reason you never spot Prince William and Kate holding hands in public; any sort of public display of affection is frowned upon. Though Prince Harry and Markle are already known to be affectionate, this will likely temper once they say I do.
She'll have to be baptised.
As People reports, Markle, who grew up protestant, will be baptised into the Church of England before she and Prince Harry tie the knot.
She won't be able to play Monopoly.
Apparently, the game gets way too "vicious" among the royals, according to the Duke of York.
When she travels abroad, she'll have to pack an all-black outfit.
Every member of the royal family reportedly has to pack an all-black outfit during international travel in case of a sudden death in the family.
Her humanitarian efforts will have a much larger platform.
Markle, a longtime feminist and advocate for women's rights, will be encouraged to continue her humanitarian work (with a much larger audience).
She can't be active in politics.
With that said, Markle will have to keep any political undertones to a minimum; royals are not permitted to discuss their political views publicly, vote, or run for office.
Social media is a thing of the past.
Markle has already deleted her Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, in addition to discontinuing her lifestyle blog The Tig.
She won't be able to sit wherever she wants.
The royal family has to enter and sit in every room according to the succession of the throne, and Markle will be expected to follow suit.
She won't be able to eat shellfish while traveling.
As if the black-outfit rule weren't odd enough, royals are banned from eating shellfish while traveling due to the risk of food poisoning.
