Earlier this year underneath a storied oak tree laced with fairy lights in the heart of Malibu, California, Vanessa Gex (nee Spillane) of Stone Cold Fox, and Rob Gex, co-owner of Atlas Lifestyle Co. and US sales manager for Epokhe, exchanged vows in a ceremony that can only be described as dreamlike.
Flanked with 10 groomsmen and eight bridesmaids (who fittingly wore custom Stone Cold Fox), the young couple and their bridal party were the definition of picture-perfect. Dressed in Vera Wang and Acne Studios respectively, the bride and groom wed in front of their 210 guests in a “rustic, yet chic” setting at the iconic and picturesque Calamigos Ranch.
As every tree lit up with lights, guests danced (and danced) and ate In-and-Out burgers by the Ferris wheel champagne in hand. This is what you call a celebration. Scroll on to for the ultimate wedding inspiration—and get ready to pin.
One the dress…
“I wore Vera Wang, The Isadora Gown. I saw this dress on Pinterest just after we got engaged and I knew I had to have it. I made an appointment at Vera Wang knowing it was the one. It was the first dress I tried on and straight away it was a yes! I also wore a Vera Wang veil.”
On the bridesmaid outfits…
“All the girls wore custom Stone Cold Fox. I let my bridesmaids pick their favourite SCF styles as I wanted them to feel comfortable and confident on the day. From there we nailed it down to the different styles which were the Gemini Gown, Delarosa Gown, and Onyx Gown. I had six bridesmaids and two per style. They were made of a 100% silk in a beautiful navy.”
On the groomsman outfits…
“Rob designed his groomsman's suits and had them custom made in Bali. One of the groomsman, Derek, lives in Bali so he helped to organise them. All of the guys wore matching white button downs that another one of the groomsmen Mitch had gifted them.”
On the flowers…
“I did a mixture of all-white flowers with lots of greenery in a loose boutique.”
On the hair…
“My hair was out in a natural wave with a tiny bit pinned back into my veil.”
On the styling…
“The colours were predominately whites with a dash of greenery and vintage brass. My wedding co-ordinator and I worked together to style the wedding. The theme was rustic so we hired some vintage furniture and decorated the venue with an assortment of items that I thought helped to give it character. The venue did a great job of styling the venue as well—every tree was covered in fairy lights and there were a lot of them so at night the entire place was lit up!”
