Step Inside This Australian Beauty Giant's Impressive Melbourne Head Office

Lauren Powell

If L’Oreal’s newly renovated Melbourne head office is anything to go by, it seems the cosmetics industry is just as glamorous behind closed doors as it is in the glossy department stores.

The foyer sets the scene for what’s to come—you’re instantly greeted with a marble reception desk, on an exquisite marble floor, surrounded by mirrored bevelled panelling adorned with four digital screens displaying some of the brand’s best beauty looks.

Designed by Travis Walton Architecture, the leading beauty house’s new and innovative fit-out combines open-plan spaces, advanced digital connectivity, and luxurious finishing’s to encourage communication and collaboration.

If the state-of-the-art design isn’t enough, then the staff kitchen-come-function space inspired by the city’s world-class café culture should be. This sustainable staff retreat—designed to encourage and provide balance and harmony—is home to a landscaped green wall, communal café seating, intimate booths, and some of the best coffee in town. And if that’s not enough, the giant digital abstract artwork of Gigi Hadid in the communal workspace should be. Scroll on to take a tour through this contemporary-meets-cool space.
