This Is What It's Like to Eat Like Kim Kardashian West for a Week
Kim Kardashian West's fame is owed in small part to her curves, and the reality star has always worked hard to maintain her hourglass figure. Since giving birth to Saint last December, the mother of two has been on the fitness train along with sisters Kourtney and Khloé, dropping 60 pounds in the last six months. Her nutritionist, Colette Heimowitz, recently revealed her diet to Business Insider's Mallory Schlossberg, and it's a surprisingly hearty plan within the world of celebrity dieting.
Kardashian-West consumes roughly 1500 to 1600 calories per day on a version of the Atkins diet, usually starting off the day with a version of scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. For lunch and dinner, she sticks to protein-packed chicken or fish with leafy greens, rounding out each day with two snack breaks (usually before and after lunch). Kim's "cheat" items on the list include a vanilla coffee frappe and mac and cheese.
"The beauty of Atkins is you don't need to do it with very low calories," said Heimowitz in an interview with Business Insider. "You can eat 1500 to 1800 calories a day, so you're not starving … so you have less of a tendency to want to cheat." Heimowitz tries to stick to three core rules with her clients: Eat adequate protein, high-fiber carbohydrates, and healthy fats. "You could make any diet work for you by personalising it to find a way of eating that you could live with for the rest of your life. That's the secret to long term success—you make it a lifestyle."
