"Sometimes It's Out of Your Control": Kendall Jenner Gets Real About Her Anxiety

We can't relate to 99% of Kendall Jenner's life, but we can sympathise with her struggle with anxiety. The supermodel recently elaborated on her mental health issues in this past Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, adding that she's found solace in methods like sound therapy and meditation.
"There's a lot that happened this past year, starting with … Kim's robbery," she admits. "Then I got robbed, and I had my stalkers. That's why I don't really like going out anymore. That's why I don't tweet. That's why I don't Instagram. That gives me anxiety, too. I swear, it's the craziest thing." Jenner also experiences anxiety while traveling and before fashion weeks, as she's often jet-setting across the globe to walk in shows.
"I once had a really bad attack on a plane and just had to ride it out," she once shared on her now-inactive app, as reported by Refinery29. "I felt my heart beating a million miles an hour, and I even went a little numb." Despite these scary encounters, Jenner has resolved to take as much control as she can over her anxiety. "Anxiety is all mental, so you have to try and find your ways around it," she added. "I try and maintain it, but sometimes it's out of your control. But I think I'm very blessed to be in the situation I'm in, and every year that I do fashion months, it gets a little bit easier. It's really exciting. I still look forward to it every year."
Considering that anxiety affects some 40 million adults in the US alone, Jenner is certainly not alone in her struggle. As a public figure, she can help normalise this disorder and strip away the taboo that still surrounds mental health issues in general.
