Forbes 100 List Agrees: Katy Perry Is Unstoppable

Caylor may be the highest paid celebrity couple in the world but, according to Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 list, Katy Perry comes out $55 million ahead of T. Swift—in fact, she made more in the last 12 months than Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus combined.

As the highest paid female on the list, Katy Perry ranks number three overall. Boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, who took home a $300 million purse for one snooze fest of a fight in Vegas, take the number one and two rankings, respectively.  But Perry doesn’t sound too bothered by that. “I didn’t really watch it,” said Perry. “But I heard there wasn’t really much to watch, anyway.”

Music may be one of the hot tickets on the celeb list, but Perry doesn’t classify herself as solely a musician: “I’m an entrepreneur…I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.” And grab she has. Over the last 12 months Perry has performed 124 shows on her Prismatic World Tour. 60% of her total income comes from outside of North America and, over the last 12 months, she garnered four times the industry’s average in merchandise sales, bringing in a sensational $20 per head per night of her global show. To quote Forbes, Katy Perry is “America’s top pop export.”

According to Forbes, women account for only 16 of the 100 highest-paid celebrities. What do you think of this gender gap?
