IKEA's Stunning New Woven Chair Looks Nothing Like IKEA

It's been almost a year since I visited IKEA HQ in Älmhult, Sweden, to preview its up-and-coming products, and finally, one of my favourites has just hit stores. IKEA teamed up with Dutch design icon Piet Hein Eek to create Industriell, a collection that celebrates uniqueness and individuality in design. The undisputed standout in the collection is a sculptural armchair, handwoven with durable paper fibre.

The pictures on IKEA's website don't quite do the armchair justice. An artful balance between industrial and natural, it's beautiful from every angle. The handwoven fibre also has a unique texture that visually softens the steel frame. Not sure how to style it? Position the accent chair in the corner of your bedroom with a soft throw to maximise unused space or add two in your living room to complement a linen sofa. Add a few crushed-linen cushions in grey and bone, and you've got a gorgeous gathering space.

Shop the Industriell chair below, plus a few of our other top picks from IKEA's new collection.
