A Classic Revival in the Hudson Valley

Peter Dolkas

After stumbling across photographs of a classic Greek Revival home just across from the Hudson River in upstate New York, architect Jim Joseph knew it was the ideal home for him and his partner, musical theatre composer Scott Frankel. The couple eventually closed escrow on the four-bedroom home in 2004, and moved in the same day. Through renovations and decorations, they built a home that is classically tailored and serene, while also colourful and full of character. Indeed, they revived a classic.
