3 Ways to Look and Feel Healthier in One Week, According to a Dietitian
While a genuinely healthy lifestyle cannot be achieved in one week, a few simple dietary shifts can help you to look and feel healthier in just seven days. Dietitian and nutritionist Andy Bellatti recently shared his thoughts on the subject with Business Insider, creating a health and wellness road map in the process. According to Bellatti, here's what you should add and cut out of your diet in order to look and feel like the healthiest possible version of yourself:
Drink water: Regular H2O consumption is the bedrock of any healthy lifestyle. In fact, swapping out sweetened beverages for water will help with weight management, save you calories, and rejuvenate your body. Bellatti suggests spicing up a glass of water with a lemon, lime, or cucumber wedge for added flavour.
Cut back on sodium: A key contributor to puffiness and bloating, too much sodium can leave you feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. Bellatti suggests keeping an eye on your sodium consumption throughout the week and cutting back on the table salt.
Fill up on fibre: Broccoli, bell peppers, and Brussels sprouts are so-called "powerhouse foods" that will keep you feeling full and satisfied throughout the day. If greens aren't your jam, try "sprinkling chia, hemp, or ground flax over whatever you're eating" for an added fibre boost.
