This Newcastle Lifestyle Store Was Launched by an Ex-MyDomaine Editor
If you're reading MyDomaine Australia, chances are you're very familiar with the name Lauren Powell. Lauren was the launch editor of this very website when it launched in October 2015, and in 2017 moved on to Vogue Living Australia as its online editor. Prior to editing MyDomaine, Lauren was the lifestyle editor at Madison magazine prior to its closure. Now, after years of experience in the lifestyle space, Lauren has launched a homewares store, House of Lita, alongside co-founder Brigita Millard (founder and creative director of children's clothing brand Little Indahs).
Since swinging open the doors to its converted warehouse space earlier this year, House of Lita has established itself as one of Newcastle's most exciting lifestyle spaces. The ethos of the store is simple—to bring homewares, fashion, and lifestyle pieces from around the world all under one roof, from established brands to little-known and one-off gems.
Currently stocking Australian brands including An Organised Life, In Bed, Nice Martin and The Candle Library, House of Lita serves as the perfect spot to visit (or shop online!) when you're looking for a special gift or unique find for yourself.
Lauren spoke to Hunter Hunter a month after opening and revealed more about the idea behind the store “All the things that we loved, we knew that you couldn’t buy in a retail space here in Newcastle. Everything that we’ve got and all of the brands aren’t available anywhere else in Newcastle. We wanted to have that point of difference”.
Every product from House of Lita is now available to purchase online and can be shipped across Australia. Keep scrolling to see our favourite picks from the boutique's offerings.
