30 Emerging Artists You Need to Know
I often hear designers say they love to source art from up-and-coming artists because it's always fresh and it’s often more affordable than work by established artists... and I think, “Who are these people and where do you find them?” Prints and photographs by emerging artists are readily available online, but great original works can be hard to track down, unless you’re an insider or spend a lot of time in galleries.
Needless to say, I felt like all my prayers were answered when I heard about the UNICEF Next Gen Art Party that’s happening (and open to the public) in Los Angeles this Saturday. Thrown by UNICEF’s Next Generation, a group of young leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators in their 20s and 30s, the event is a showcase and sale of work donated by both emerging and established artists from around the world. Curated by Next Gen Art Party founding chair Gabé Hirschowitz, Tappan Collective co-founder Chelsea Neman, and executive committee member Jamie Goldblatt, the contemporary art collection ranges from $100 to $300 with a few exceptions—so it’s all quite affordable. Better yet, if you can’t make it to the event, a select 30 items are available to shop by telephone beginning today. All proceeds will support UNICEF’s Tap Project, which provides clean and safe water for children around the globe.
