Step Inside This Beautiful Light-Filled Sydney Salon

Edwards and Co. isn’t your typical salon. Founded and directed by leading Sydney colourist, Jaye Edwards, Edwards and Co. is a Sydney institution and home to some of the country's leading hair colourists, stylists, and beauticians, all under one very beautiful roof. Edwards, who is responsible for the likes of Lara Worthington and Brooke Testoni’s enviable hair, swung open the doors to his new Alexandria space (the little sister to the Surry Hills flagship) just over two months ago and it is an interior lover’s dream.

The bright, split-level industrial space was designed by Edwards himself, with its sleek lines and soft timber tones a direct representation of how he likes hair to look—clean and beautiful. Vivid, playful murals adorn the otherwise crisp white walls, pots of lush greenery scatter through the space on top of the polished concrete floor, and statement pendant lamps peek through the black ceiling beams while light streams through the vast picture windows.

Outside, the ultimate cactus garden housed in vibrant Pop & Scott planters lives on the timber deck overlooking the inner-east neighbourhood. “I like the idea of growth and maturing with the spaces I design, so I like to incorporate plants and greenery to depict this,” says Edwards. Scroll down to take a tour through the seriously cool space.
