3 Ways to Detox That Require Minimal Effort, According to a Doctor

According to Dr. Frank Lipman, an integrative medicine physician and founder of Be Well, it's all about optimising your liver to help it do it's job. "Boosting liver function helps to decrease the accumulation of toxic products in the tissues," said Dr. Lipman to Health. Here are 3 simple, practical detoxing habits you can integrate into your daily routine ahead of the new year:  

Wake up with lemon water: According to Dr. Lipman, a glass of warm water with fresh lemon in the morning will "provide your body with hydrating electrolytes in the form of potassium, calcium, and magnesium," he explains. "We get dehydrated overnight as the body takes care of its detoxification process, so it's important to hydrate and replenish first thing."

Dry brush your body: A celebrity favourite, dry brushing your body before your bath or shower can "help your skin slough off old cells and debris, unclogging pores and enabling the skin to perspire freely," says Dr. Lipman.
