Take a Look Inside Cleo Wade and Elaine Welteroth's Bright and Colourful Office
Cleo Wade and Elaine Welteroth are two of the most vibrant creatives in the industry. Wade is a poet, artist, and speaker whose prose on self-love has garnered her the nickname the "millennial Oprah." Welteroth was previously the editor in chief of Teen Vogue (she left in January), a position that made her only the second African-American to hold such a title at Condé Nast. So it's only fitting that these two powerhouse women work in an office space that's just as full of life and creativity as they are.
The pair most recently graced the cover of Domino's summer 2018 issue and opened up their eclectic workspace to the mag. After becoming friends while Welteroth was still working at Teen Vogue, they turned a WeWork building located in the New York neighborhood of Tribeca into a lively office brimming with shades of pink and ochre. “Our schedules are crazy,” Wade tells Domino, “so we wanted a space in which we could be creative and strategic. That felt alive and could feed our souls.”
The space contains a variety of midcentury modern décor and contemporary pieces, along with plenty of green botanicals and an array of unique artwork. Just as in their professional work, the two have not shied away from being bold with their design aesthetic, using a variety of colors, patterns, and texture. Take a look inside their enviously cool creative space below, and head to Domino for the complete tour.
A variety of artwork and an antique-inspired mirror hang on a pink and white striped wall. Despite the bright wallpaper choice, the room doesn't shy away from even more color. Different colors and textures can be found from the rug to the couch to the throw pillows.
This cosy pink midcentury modern chair sits perfectly in the corner next to a large potted plant by a window to take advantage of the rare natural light found in the city. It looks like the perfect spot to get those creative juices flowing.
