Meryl Streep Has Just Announced the Exciting New Project She's Woking On
Though we feel like we've only just welcomed the New Year, it’s already proving to be a significant one for Meryl Streep. Just days ago, Streep lined up another round of Oscar nominations, for her latest movie The Post: "I am honored beyond measure by this nomination for a film I love, a film that stands in defense of press freedom, and inclusion of women’s voices in the movement of history,” she said in a statement. “Proud of the film, and all her filmmakers. Thank you from a full heart."
But in more recent news, Streep has just announced that she will also be joining the acclaimed Big Little Lies series for Season 2. In what has been pegged as a "rare" role for the actress by Entertainment Weekly, Streep is set to play the character of Mary Louise Wright—Celeste Wright’s (Nicole Kidman’s character) mother-in-law. It seems that Big Little Lies is only set to grow a larger cult following with its latest addition, after the show already dominated in awards and nominations at the Golden Globes earlier this month, and at the Emmy Awards last year.
Congratulations, Meryl Streep!
