Is there anything better after a long day than a burger? We think not. Whether you're deep in the throes of a break up, or are simply in the mood to binge, a soft bun and satiating filling can go a long way. If you’re looking for a justification to fall off the health-train, your wish has been granted, because it’s International Burger Day. Yum. And thankfully for us, Business Insider Australia recently rounded up some of the best burger joints in Sydney. If you'd rather stay in, Deliveroo is celebrating by offering major cities a meal deal (burger, fries, toy, drink and free delivery included) for under $5. Genius. 

From your classic double-beef option, to impressive vegetarian options, read on for some of these tried-and-tested option—with a few of our favourites thrown in. Dig in.

BLAME CANADA, BAR LUCA 

Where: 52 Phillip St, Sydney CBD

What’s in it: A beef patty, maple glazed streaky bacon, American cheese, maple aioli and poutine.

Mary’s Burger with double beef, Mary’s

Where: 154 Castlereagh St, Sydney CBD

What’s in it: Two Beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and Mary’s Sauce. 

BEEF AND CHEESE BURGER, CHARGRILL CHARLIE'S 

Where: Various locations around Sydney. 

What’s in it: A beef patty, fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. And your choice of NYC-style mayonnaise with an option for the secret sauce. 

WAGYU BEEF BURGER, EAT CRONULLA

Where: 43 Gerrale St, Cronulla

What’s in it: A wagyu patty, maple bacon, pickled onions, tomato jam and truffle aioli. 

Spicy Veggie Burger, Lord of the Fries

Where: 537 George St, Sydney CBD

What’s in it: Mock beef patty, cheese, onion and lettuce topped with a Tobasco tomato sauce, jalapenos and chilli mayo. For bonus points: It's 100 percent vegan.

Fish Katsu Burger, Ume Burger

Where: Wulugul Walk, Barangaroo

What’s in it: Hand crumbed fish fillet, Japanese tartare sauce, iceberg lettuce and cheese.

The Southern Fried Chicken Burger, The Terrace Bar

Where: 83 Mount St, North Sydney

What’s in it: Southern fried buttermilk chicken thigh fillet, dill pickle slaw, American cheese and hickory smoked relish.

Pecan Wood Smoked Brisket, Ze Pickle

Where: 6/17-51 Foveaux St, Surry Hills

What’s in it: Smoked beef brisket with house made mac and cheese, and fried onion straws.

MAGIC DELUXE, BURGER PROJECT

Where: Gateway Centre, Circular Quay

What’s in it: Containing the regular elements of a beef burger, it's the crumbed confit mushroom and secret sauce that makes this burger a must-have. Plus, Black Label by Burger Project opens in the CBD today, so you can be the first their new ramped up menu.
