Across the world, the term bungalow has different meanings. In South Africa, it refers to a small holiday house; in India, to any single-family unit. But in the States, the word predominantly depicts small, low-rise one- or two-story home with a veranda -- the architectural materials, such as brick or wood, varying depending on location. California v. Chicago bungalow, etc. Despite subtle variations, one thing is true of these American bungalows: the art incredibly cute. And they are really all a small family needs -- we would be totally content, thrilled actually, living in one of these adorable homes. So here to give us the scoop on the eight best bungalows on the market around the country is Alex Brunkorst, LA-based real estate agent and founder of Bungalux. Professional Opinion: I plucked a few Venice bungalows out for this "favourite bungalow" list, because they're just so darn perfect.|

Professional Opinion: It's not a typo, folks. Under 900 square feet for $1,595,000. Silicon Beach is another word for "expensive."|

Professional Opinion: I always drive by this little purple jewel box on my way to the Highlands. Sure, it's not the Little Nell, but who's to say you can't host your own après-ski?|
