If You Want to Relax in London, Here's Where to Stay
London is a city filled with so many things to do, so much to see, and little time left feeling like you can unwind and relax. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to London as an adult a few times, and each time I’ve left feeling wired. On a recent week-long trip with my husband, we chose to stay in the heart of Knightsbridge—a little outside the hustle and bustle, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how quaint it felt in a city flanked by high-rises and eight million people. I left the city feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and inspired.
On past trips to London, I’ve stayed in big hotels where it’s hard to escape the feeling of being surrounded by millions of other people. This time, we checked in at Mr and Mrs Smith's Knightsbridge Hotel, which feels more like you’re staying in a private home. The hotel is on a beautiful and quiet tree-lined street—around the corner from Harrods. Talk about convenience?! Hyde Park and some of the must-see galleries and museums (like the Natural History Museum and The Saatchi Gallery) are all within a short walking distance, but if you prefer to spend your holidays dropping your hard-earned cash, Harvey Nichols and Sloan Street (where you’ll find international designer stores) are all nearby.
After long days of sightseeing, and clocking up about 15kms of walking each day (from Buckingham Palace, to high tea at Sketch, and a stroll through Notting Hill’s Portobello Markets), it’s easy to unwind in one of the hotel’s two communal sitting areas—stocked with a serve-yourself honesty bar. But the ultimate indulgence? The hotel offers a full range of body and beauty treatments you an enjoy in your own room.

The facade of the building looks like a beautiful London terrace. Perfect for snapping an Instagram pic. (It was the first picture I snapped on my holiday).
