And the #1 Country to Safari in Africa Is...
Heading out on a safari is one of most singular and exceptional travel experiences you can seek out. But deciding where to go can be all sorts of confusing, with innumerable guidebooks pointing this way and that, declaring different destinations the best for various reasons that all sound pretty amazing, if you ask us.
A recent SafariBookings poll of over 3000 reviews compiled over the past two years, as well as more than 700 expert reviews (including writers from Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Frommer’s, Bradt, and Footprint), concluded Tanzania to be the number one safari destination on the African continent.
Boasting seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park, as well as the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is also host to an annual migration in which over 2.5 million wildebeests and zebras leave Serengeti National Park for Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
