The New Apparatus Showroom Is a Piece of Europe in the Heart of Los Angeles
There are few designers who truly capture the spirit of the creative process. It's more than just design; it's about capturing a feeling in a physical object and transferring that energy into someone's home. That's what the design duo and co-founders of Apparatus do. Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson first met in California seven years ago, so it seems fitting that they would head west from their New York residency to set up their third showroom in the heart of Hollywood—they also have a European hub in Milan. And they're in good company with famous interior designer haunts JF Chen and Blackman Cruz around the corner along with art galleries Ralph Pucci and Regen Projects.
From the moment you step into the moody 5000-square-foot space, you're immediately transported into their world. As someone who was lucky enough to be given a VIP tour of the space before the grand opening, I can vouch for its heart-stopping beauty that caresses every pore of your creative being and makes all your hair stand on end. Seeing this calibre of creative talent set up in L.A. is exciting and definitely puts the West Coast design scene on the world map.

The neutral backdrop is the perfect foundation for the iconic lighting and dramatic designs.
This looks like it belongs in Europe, but it's in the heart of West Hollywood.
The lighting designs are out of this world.
The hallways have indented spaces with more lighting that provides warmth to the stark concrete walls and floors.
