Shame We Can't Rent Airbnb's New Sydney Office

It’s quite possible that we’ve just laid eyes on the coolest office in town. Airbnb has just unveiled its new Sydney headquarters and just like the accommodation leader’s unique offering, it is one impressive space.

When you arrive, there is no doubt you’ve entered the Australian HQ—you’re instantly welcomed by an office-adapted version of an AFL oval (goal posts, astroturf and all) and a kitchen inspired by the Coogee Pavilion. Take a quick trip to La La Land by visiting the ladies room, which replicates a Hollywood Regency, while the men’s room is themed on a gentleman’s club and whisky bar.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, the meeting rooms are inspired by actual Airbnb listings—the staff members picked a Kangaroo Valley lounge, Havana dining room (of which you enter behind a swinging bookcase) and a Swedish sitting room.

“At Airbnb, we want to create the sense of travel when we welcome people into our office—simply having photos of listings and far off places is not enough, we want our employees and guests to experience the feeling you get when you travel,” says Airbnb Australia Country Manager, Sam McDonagh. “Our new Sydney office captures what we value as a company: creativity, travel, and thoughtful design.” Scroll town to take a tour of the incredible space—unfortunately, it’s not available for bookings.

Inspired? Book yourself a getaway and experience some beautiful new places.
