The topic of “working mums” has gotten tonnes of buzz in recent years. Can working mums have it all? Is balance really possible? I would ask myself these questions too. Turns out that “balance” and “having it all” are still widely considered elusive concepts, so the good news is I’m not alone. When it comes to doing what we really love, managing our family life, and still making time for our loved ones and ourselves—all while looking like we’ve got it together—the struggle is real. Here are the things I wish I’d known in advance, if only to help me prepare and recognise that we’re in this together. Have any mum-to-be friends? These 10 tips will help them make it work while they werk.
Sadly, when we don’t have time or are too tired after a long day, finding a window to exercise can be challenging. Or, find a workout buddy to attend a cycling class instead of brunch with on the weekend.
Tip: Schedule all workouts while planning your week, and put them in your calendar as you would a regular meeting.
