The Chicest Homes To Rent On Your Next Vacation
There's something special about staying with friends while travelling. The cosy sense of comfort you get when visiting a home over a hotel room. Not to mention the access to excellent restaurants, bars, and points-of-interest that get left out of the travel guides, but are local favourites. Onefinestay, a new high-end accommodation concept, enables visitors to live like a local, and while the owner is away, stay in distinctive, curated homes in the best neighbourhoods in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
Onefinestay is taking the luxuries of four-star hotels and adding a personal flair, allowing guests to browse the seemingly endless array of beautiful homes on their website to choose the best house, apartment, or cottage to suit their vacation needs. "[We offer] a new category of urban, upscale accommodations, halfway between a boutique experience and staying in someone's home," co-founder Evan Frank says. "It's an intimate, full-service experience to both homeowners and guests."
Offering the same conveniences as four-star hotels - top-of-the-line linens, private airport transfers, wi-fi, and maid service to name a few - each onefinestay guest is also provided with an iPhone. That means free calls and data, plus the phone's pre-loaded with local tips, recommendations, and helpful advice for the duration of their stay. Recommendations are gathered from the homeowner, city experts, and previous guests to provide insider information on the best places to see and things to do while staying in the area.
While we love the thoughtful perks and hotel-like conveniences that onefinestay offers, what we can't take our eyes off of are the homes. Each space is beautifully decorated, some offering the distinct vibe of their city-setting, and some breaking from tradition to offer a new way to experience the surroundings. "onefinestay homes are a curated collection of distinctive dwellings," Frank says. "The personal stamp of the owner is something we look for." Whether looking for a beach bungalow in Santa Monica or a 16th-century home on Paris' left-bank, the onefinestay options are endless eye-candy and wanderlust creators. But don't forget your wallet: chic dwellings and insider advice are not inexpensive. "We're not targeting the value-sensitive segment of inbound travel; we price consistently with four-star hotels," Frank says. With a growing list of homes we're dying to see in person, we've already started saving. Photographs: Courtesy of onefinestay
