“My best piece of career advice would be to find something you’re truly passionate about, and make it your career—find that workplace or job that you are genuinely excited to drive to on a Monday morning. When I first came up with the idea of starting kikki.K, finding a job that would truly make me happy was a huge part of my career choice. It’s so important to find a career that reflects what you love in life. For me, starting kikki.K meant that I could combine my love of Swedish design and stationery, stay connected to my Swedish heritage, family and friends, whilst doing something truly meaningful—inspiring and empowering people the world over, to live their best life, every day.”
“I was given some advice very early on in my career and it has become the foundation of my business. Every business is different and you need to not only listen to advice, but to also have good judgement to ensure it is relevant to your business. Work for yourself and do not take on a business partner. Be careful and respectful of money and do not over extend.”
“My best career advice is to wear a smile and have confidence in whatever situation you find yourself in, even if you have to fake it a bit. I know this sounds easy, but so many people can turn up to an interview looking shell shocked with a blank expression and a big smile and a firm handshake creates a great memorable impression. Also, wear clothes you are comfortable in. If you are having to pull and tug at your outfit all day it needs to go! Wear things that make you feel confident, comfortable, and that are a reflection of you. Finally, own the energy you bring into a space. You walk through about 200 doorways a day. Reset your attitude each time to leave a wake of positive confidence as you move though life. It will take you places. I love this quote by Henry Ford, ““Whether you think you can, or you think you can't—you're right.””
“Personal power and belief in yourself is the most powerful asset you have. Dress for the role you want, not the one you have—fake it until you make it. Experience is earned and there is no replacement—work your butt off! Remember, integrity is the foundation for success.”
