INF / Network: Meet Rebecca Jobson
Meet our INF / Network, a highly curated roster of some of Australia’s most respected voices in fashion, beauty and lifestyle. We will work closely with these women to bring you a fresh perspective, and offer them an opportunity to create content outside of their traditional categories. Perhaps you have always loved Sara Donaldson’s style, but you're keen to know more about her beauty routine? Or maybe you love Kelly Muller’s parenting advice, but want to know more about her fashion tips? We’re opening the door to give these inspirational women an opportunity to share more with you.
It’s time to meet… Rebecca Jobson of People Places Plates.
To be honest, I never ever pictured myself being in this industry. I never thought I would be a children’s wear designer, my life just organically pointed me in that direction and I am so incredibly happy because I love it so much. I’m constantly learning and growing which is the best feeling, and having a career change later on in life is so rewarding as it feels like you are doing something that really encapsulates your heart not just for the sake of being employed after schooling.
Ah, the joys of working from home. I can wear my silk robes (my favourite is by an Australian label Isabeau) and get away with it. Everyday is casual Friday for me. And the fact that I’m also a working from home mum, means that whatever outfit I wear will surely be covered in avocado and banana from the baby anyway. If I have an important meeting I have to attend, I do love to throw on an Isabel Marant blazer and a pair of killer heels so walk in with a real pep in my step.
“Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out”. I was taught to take the time to really make sure you mean the things that leave your mouth, because once they leave you can never take them back. I also love this saying because I think that everything you do and preach should be done with conviction and you should really be proud of your beliefs. Stand up for what you believe in!
