Naming a child is a big deal, and picking a moniker you love that's right for your precious bundle is a tough call. There are so many things to think about when searching for that perfect name: How does it sound with your surname? Will it work from its cute early days, right through school years, and on into adult life? Is it original? How many other children will have the same name at school? Does my partner like the name too?

Thankfully, as POPSUGAR Australia reports, the 100 most popular baby names in Australia for girls and for boys have just been announced—so that's a good place to start if you're struggling for inspiration.

We are surprised by how many traditional names make an appearance for girls, with Bonnie and Florence moving into the list, and royal favourite Charlotte the front-runner for the second year in a row.

Oliver maintains the top spot for the third year for the boys, with Sonny and Parker making their first ever appearances in the top 100.
