How This Sydney Entrepreneur Feng Shui's Her Desk to Increase Productivity
Sometimes it can seem like you spend more time at your desk, than you do in your own bed. And as you spend so much time there, creating the perfect desk feng shui that works for you, could be the key to unlocking maximum productivity.
We know that there are certain plants to keep nearby for the ultimate zen vibes, and we also know that organisation is key, but in true feng shui fashion, it's important to spatially arrange your desk in a way that feels right for your workflow and one that creates a calming energy. Since we spend so much time in our cubicles, we chatted to the ultimate authority on chic stationery, founder of An Organised Life, Beck Wadworth, about the key styling tips she uses, to make the most out of her day and why it’s so important.
Keep scrolling for Wadworth’s tips.
ON CREATING A PRODUCTIVE SPACE
"It’s important to have a functional desk set-up in order to be productive. Give everything a place, minimise clutter, create systems that work for you, and invest in storage solutions that suit your space. Even small ones like a pen holder or drawers for underneath your desk. The worst thing you can do is create chaos, it will leave you feeling overwhelmed and more stressed than you need to be. Get creative and start re-working your desk so that it’s organised, and functional yet inspiring."
ON HOW SHE STYLES HER OWN DESK
"I currently have my office at home in my Bondi apartment. Style wise, you can find numerous candles at my desk along with some books, magazines, plants and a ridiculous amount of pens!
I have a calendar framed on my wall and a white pin board that is filled with new product designs, paper swatches, and cut out magazine images. I change up my pin board frequently for fresh inspiration.
I also have a lot of storage in my workspace. It’s all uniform, white wood, and each cupboard or draw is allocated to a certain item or task. (E.g invoices to be paid, wholesale orders, online labels, notebooks, pens, and postage bags). It makes my day much more streamlined knowing where everything is and knowing where everything has to go. "
