Karlie Kloss Shares Her Secrets to Confidence, Balance, and Productivity
She’s one of the world’s most sought-after supermodels, creator of the successful Klossy YouTube channel, a coding mentor, and a New York University student—so it’s safe to say that Karlie Kloss fits the inspirational woman bill.
Kloss has also just starred in Diane von Furstenberg’s new S/S 16 campaign titled #youbeyou, which inspires women to become their most confident selves. To celebrate the uplifting campaign, Kloss spoke to ELLE Magazine about the secret to her work-life balance, her number-one tip for productivity, and the woman who has shaped her career.
“There are so many inspiring women in my life, including the woman behind this amazing campaign, Diane herself! Diane is one of the most influential people in my life, she's been a mentor to me since my earliest modelling days.” Kloss told ELLE Magazine. “She's taught me to be the woman I want to be and confidence is a huge part of that. Being comfortable with yourself allows you to take risks and accomplish so much more.”
Kloss’ secret to productivity is refreshingly simple, but effective, “I keep a notebook of the things I need to get done in a day, week, month along with my overarching goals—whenever I have a couple of moments on set or on a plane, I work on ticking off my to-do list,” explains Kloss, adding that family and friends are the key keeping balance in the midst of a busy schedule. “My family and friends are the ones that keep me grounded. When work gets hectic, they're always the ones I turn to for advice and support—they are everything to me.”
