The 4-Hour Morning Routine Jessica Alba Swears By
If Jessica Alba's immense success is any indication, the actress, mother of two, and founder of The Honest Company knows how to make the most of each and every day. Her morning routine certainly reflects that strength and determination, packing more activities into the first four hours than most accomplish in an entire day. Alba recently shared her inspiring morning routine with Well+Good, detailing everything from her morning workout to her go-to breakfast.
"If I'm working out in the morning, I'll wake up at 5:30 a.m. using the alarm clock on my phone—if my kids haven't already woken me up!" says Alba. "Working out is not my favourite, but it's stress relief and I get good ideas working up a sweat. I like to make a morning class before I get to work: Spinning or hot yoga sculpt, always with friends to keep me motivated." From there, the businesswoman showers and completes a simple five-minute beauty routine using an arsenal of Honest Beauty products; her "not-so-secret weapon" is the Honest Beauty Magic Balm for softening her lips, managing hair flyaways, and softening the appearance of facial lines.
After just a few minutes of primping, Alba heads to the kitchen for breakfast, which usually consists of coffee with almond milk and either avocado toast with gluten-free bread or a coconut water smoothie. While eating, she browses the CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and BuzzFeed apps on her iPhone. Before jetting off to the office around 9 a.m., she caps off her morning with some prework snuggles with daughters Honour and Haven. "This does as much for me as it does for them; it clears my mind and opens my heart. I don't meditate in the morning, but I try to find time at some point during the day. I love the Headspace app for taking a moment when I need it," concludes Alba.
