Inside India Hicks' Heavenly Bahamas Home
India Hicks is a woman of many talents—the model, entrepreneur, author, mother of five, and daughter of famed interior designer, David Hicks, is living an idyllic island life that most could only dream of. British-born Hicks, who is also the founder of lifestyle brand India Hicks London-Harbour Island—an exclusive collection of well-crafted gifts, beauty, and accessories, purchased this property on Harbour Island in the Bahamas back in 1997 and recently invited the The Grace Tales over to talk about life in the archipelago.
The classic plantation-style home, which is occupied by Hicks, her partner David Flint Wood, their five children, and an array of pets (including dogs, cats, love-birds, and a tortoise), is inspired by her traditional British past and her vibrant Caribbean present. It's also home to the most incredible garden full of palms, frangipani trees, and fuchsia pink bougainvillea.
And although Hicks couldn’t imagine life in the city again, she admits island life can be surprisingly tough. “Life in the Bahamas can be more challenging than people imagine—we don’t have a doctor, dentist, or vet,” Hicks told The Grace Tales. Scroll down to take a tour of the beautiful residence.
