Although it’s only fitting that Gumtree’s newly renovated Sydney head office was fitted out with only items selected and purchased from the online marketplace, it’s also seriously cool—especially considering the complete revamp cost less than $2500!

Like many other tech giants, Gumtree has designed its new HQ to represent the personality of its vibrant online community by decorating the space with unique items bought directly from them community. The character-filled space, located in Sydney’s CBD, features themed meeting rooms that are inspired by the website’s key categories including auto (they’ve used hubcaps as wall art), home and garden (we’re in love with the cream and gold antique floor lamp), and sport and fitness (game of croquet on the astro turf, anyone?).

The company teamed up with interior designer and stylist, Kendra McCarthy, to source and handpick every single item directly from Gumtree sellers for the personalised makeover. “Gumtree has such a personality and really embraces the community that exists around it, I wanted to bring a personal feel to the different areas and to feature items that you can’t just find anywhere,” says McCarthy.

The best part? All of the unwanted furniture was listed for free on Gumtree and snapped up by a buyer who was moving into a new office—bravo, Gumtree, bravo. Scroll down and step inside this exciting new space.
