This Sunday, the annually held Floriade festival begins in Canberra, and while thinking of the blooms that will be on show, something else popped into our minds: Flower-inspired baby names, of course. Sure, there’s the common monikers like Lily and Rose, but we’ve dug deep and found some unique options that even we, self-declared baby name experts, haven’t heard before.

If you’re currently in search for names in the immediate (or not so immediate) future, if there’s one thing we’ve learnt from our gender-neutral, Australiana, and Italian predictions, it’s that playing it safe is more commonly than not what sees new parents suffer from naming regret the most.

See below for our favourite flora-inspired names and shop our favourite baby items while you’re here.
