Inside a Floral Designer's Industrial Studio

Peter Dolkas
Sarah Winward Sarah Winward, of Salt Lake City based floral design company Honey of a Thousand Flowers, ended up in the business quite naturally. She never thought she would be designing floral arrangements, but once a few friends started to notice what she could make from her backyard and some recommendations were made, the rest was history. The studio she moved her business into, in Salt Lake City's downtown, has a similar organic feeling. An easygoing approach to business has resulted in a space that is similarly unpretentious. An over-dyed rug underneath a dining table, where Winward meets with clients, is the only pop of colour in the otherwise utilitarian space. Industrial concrete floors, well worn wood tables, and an exposed brick structure allow for the stunning floral arrangements to have their moment. And if you're not certain they are stunning enough, just take one look at her online portfolio. You'll be amazed what can come from such humble beginnings.
