Sardinian Iced Tea
If you ask us, there's only one drink to order at Mario Batali's Greenwich Village mainstay Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, and it's this one. Utterly devoid of iced tea but brimming with herbaceous summery refreshment, the tall glass concoction is the masterwork of bartender Dennis Mullally, and just so happens to be Domaine Editorial Director Mat Sanders' favourite. "It's somewhat bitter, somewhat fizzy-refreshingly sophisticated, but perfectly casual in presentation," he says, adding that Mullally is crucial to the equation. "Dennis is everything you want in a classic New York City bar manager. He is there nightly, spilling no-nonsense advice--but never a drop of prosecco."
1 15-ounce glass, filled with ice
2 ounces Meletti amaro, or your favourite
1/2 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
(Makes 1 drink)
Pour amaro and lime juice into glass, then top with prosecco.
