Chrissy Teigen's Refreshing View on Motherhood

Katie Fowler

Many women come to an age (normally right after they get married) when they start to be asked (continuously) when they’re going to have children. The question is usually a ‘when’, rather than an ‘if’, and for many, just being asked can be super frustrating.

Chrissy Teigen, who recently gave birth to daughter Luna, knows all too well about the pressures on women to have children. During a recent interview with Refinery 29, Teigen, who herself struggled with conception and postpartum depressionopened up about the pressures placed on women to have children, and how it is a very personal choice (emphasis on the choice). "I don't feel like people should be pressured to have children. I'm sure that when you announce that fact to somebody, they're very quick to be like, 'Gasp! Why don't you want kids?' And I've never been that way with people, because I don’t think any of us should assume all women’s goals are to have kids, It’s a choice!" she said.
