This self-contained two-bedroom stone and timber farm house on 200 acres, boasts the most beautiful views of the Blue Mountains. The home is filled with a collection of antiques and has been constructed using recycled timber beams and reclaimed windows and doors from other country properties and hotels. Every item in the house has a history and has been collected over a lifetime of treasure hunting.

Relax, explore and experience nature at its finest at Huon Bush Teepees, located in Tasmania's Huon Valley, just 50km South West of Hobart. Located within an extensive habitat reserve, this nature retreat features 5km of bush walks on-site, via a rainforest and waterfall to mountain-top views. This award winning, carbon positive (they absorb more carbon than we release) retreat, can only be reached by a 4km winding gravel road. Once you arrive, enjoy the forest setting complete with your own private deck.

Silk Pavilion Cabin, Mount Burrell, New South Wales

This charming eco-cabin is made from a traditional timber Octagon Bure and furnished with a carved teak bed and Balinese artifacts. Our favourite feature? The huge stone tub positioned underneath the bathroom bi-fold windows overlooking the Border Ranges. The Pavilion also has a vast open deck complete with a BBQ and lazy chairs to soak up that fresh, country air.

Abbeys Retreat is a beautiful stone and iron home on 10 acres of tranquil, calm land in Western Australia’s picturesque South West. Expect an abundance of wildlife—including kookaburras, cockatoos, and blue wrens—wildflowers and a dam. Sit around the open fire and toast marshmallows under the stars.

Bainbridge Cottage, Wheatsheaf, Victoria

Bainbridge Cottage is situated in the Wombat State Forest (50km west of Melbourne) and surrounded by 100 ft. gum trees on five acres of your own wild forest. You’ll be greeted by kangaroos lazing in the garden or drinking from the dam come early morning or twilight—and keep your eyes peeled for echidnas or wallabies hiding within metres of the cottage. Inside, the Scandavian-inspired interior is one you’ll want to replicate yourself at home.

Are you escaping the city for the long weekend? If so, we’d love to know where to!
